Miller Knight Complete Fire Remediation Works at James Watt Way

Miller Knight is pleased to announce the successful completion of comprehensive fire compartmentation remediation works at James Watt Way in Erith, reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering safe, compliant, and quality-led building solutions.
Appointed in early 2024 via the Fusion21 framework, Miller Knight undertook a programme of internal and external works designed to bring the building fully in line with current Building Safety Regulations. The project forms part of Miller Knight’s growing portfolio of fire safety remediation across the UK, supporting clients in strengthening the resilience and long-term safety of their residents.
The project involved the full strip-out and reinstatement of internal boarding to meet fire safety regulations, extending 30-minute fire-rated walls to the underside of the compartment floor, and completing all associated making-good works. It also included reinstatement of kitchens, bathrooms, finishes, and tiling, along with the removal of external render and non-compliant cavity barriers, followed by the installation of fully compliant cavity barriers and new render to ensure the building met current safety standards.
Speaking on the successful completion, Matthew Flower, Managing Director at Miller Knight, said: “Delivering safe, compliant environments is at the heart of what we do. The works at James Watt Way demonstrate our team’s dedication to high standards, collaboration, and meticulous attention to detail. I’m incredibly proud of everyone involved in bringing this project to completion and grateful to our partners for their support throughout.”
Miller Knight extends thanks to delivery partners Walltec Group Ltd, AliDeck, CDS Consulting, and Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) for their valued collaboration.
