HIGH PAVEMENT, ASHFIELD DISTRICT COUNCIL
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Funded through Ashfield District Council’s (ADC) £6.3m Future High Streets Fund, the High Pavement project was the second of four schemes for ADC, providing workspaces for a range of stakeholders to support and encourage local business expansion.
Previously an outdated DWP office block, this council-owned property situated in the heart of the busy town centre of Sutton-in-Ashfield, required extensive refurbishment and reconfiguration, involving the installation of sustainable technologies, building alterations and repairs, and major mechanical and electrical works.
SERVICES PROVIDED
Miller Knight were appointed as principal contractor on the scheme, following previous success in delivering multi stakeholder regeneration projects for the client.
Scope of works included:
- Demolition and strip-out.
- Reconfiguration of internal layout by installing new partitions.
- M&E design and installation, including solar PV and EV chargers.
- Platform lift installation.
- Replacement suspended ceilings and floor finishes.
- Installation of new FR door sets and associated joinery items.
- Formation of additional car parking spaces and landscaping.
- External façade refurbishment.
