Miller Knight were appointed by Emeritus Homes to undertake fire remediation and fire door upgrade works across 11 apartment blocks.

Emeritus Homes is Landlord and Manager of a retirement apartment portfolio, providing independent living accommodation for the over-55s.

Following a compartmentation survey, we identified the full extent of the works required and met with the client to discuss the programme of work, and other considerations including:

  • Social distancing protocols duing the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Ensuring there would be minimal disruption to residents.
  • Managing communications via daily briefings, delivered by our Site Manager.
  • Regular work progress updates via Firetronic (our electronic recording system).

Overall each project consisted of the installation of passive fire protection to the communal areas in the building, plus alterations and adjustments to existing Fire Doors and replacing any defective doors where required.

All projects were delivered within the agreed timescales and budget, thus receiving exceptional feedback from every Emeritus House Manager.
