CRIME SCENE HOUSE, NOTTINGHAM COLLEGE
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Nottingham College is one of the largest further education and higher education colleges in the UK, with more than 2,500 students enrolling every year.
The Basford campus is a large, bright, and modern campus, hosting learning facilities for construction, science, animal science, health and social care, sport, and public services course.
SERVICES PROVIDED
Procured via the Pagabo Small Works DPS, Miller Knight were appointed as principal contractor, ensuring the effective coordination and management of all trades.
Nottingham College required the reconfiguration of two eco-houses and surrounding area located on the campus to create a crime scene house for forensic science students to utilise and get a hands-on experience in conducting practical courses.
Scope of works included:
- Drainage and access ramp.
- External cladding.
- M&E design and installations.
- Windows and doors.
- Decoration and reconfiguration services.
- Replacement floor coverings.
ACHIEVEMENTS
The project resulted in a complete transformation of the existing houses, most noticeably the impressive external timber cladding and access ramp.
The students now benefit from the reconfigured space, which includes a blood splatter room and state-of-the-art fingerprint analysis equipment.
