About Miller Knight

Miller Knight is one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary principal contractors, delivering specialist fire remediation, building safety, compliance and refurbishment projects across the residential, commercial, healthcare, education and public sectors.

With an established reputation for delivering complex, high-profile projects, we work collaboratively with developers, housing providers, local authorities, healthcare organisations, commercial clients and investors to create safer, compliant buildings throughout the UK.

As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a Quality & Compliance Advisor to join our expanding SHEQ team and help maintain the high standards our clients have come to expect.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, a passion for quality, and the confidence to challenge poor practice, while driving continuous improvement across our projects.

The Role

As Quality & Compliance Advisor, you’ll provide independent assurance across live construction projects, ensuring works are completed in line with specifications, approved installation methods and industry standards.

Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, you’ll travel to sites across the UK carrying out quality inspections, compliance audits and assurance reviews, helping project teams deliver a consistent “Right First Time” approach.

Working closely with operational teams, you’ll identify opportunities for improvement, promote best practice and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout the business.

This role involves regular UK travel and occasional overnight stays.

Role Responsibilities

As Quality & Compliance Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting quality and compliance audits across live construction projects.
  • Inspecting completed and ongoing works to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings and approved installation details.
  • Reviewing project documentation, quality assurance records and inspection reports.
  • Identifying non-conformances, quality defects and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Producing clear, accurate and professional audit reports.
  • Monitoring corrective actions through to completion and verifying improvements.
  • Supporting site teams in understanding quality requirements and best practice.
  • Assisting with the development of quality procedures, guidance documents and training materials.
  • Promoting a proactive “Right First Time” culture across the business.
  • Working collaboratively with project teams to continuously improve quality performance.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is organised, analytical and passionate about maintaining high standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience within a quality, compliance, assurance, auditing, inspection, or similar role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • The ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, specifications, or proccedures.
  • Confidence to challenge non-compliant practices in a constructive and professional manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and stay away when required.

Construction experience is advantageous, but not essential.

What We Offer

At Miller Knight, we believe our people are key to our continued success. In return, we offer:

  • Competitive salary of £40,000-£47,000 (depending on experience)
  • Company van and fuel card
  • Additional payments for overnight stays and working away
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Company pension
  • Genuine opportunities for career progression
  • A collaborative, supportive, and ambitious working environment
